HOMESTEAD, Fla. - Carl Edwards did all he could by winning Saturday's Ford 300 Nationwide Series finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway but it wasn't enough to keep Clint Bowyer from winning the 2008 championship.
While Edwards was taking the checkered flag Saturday night, Bowyer's fifth-place finish was enough to win the title by 21 points.
“We’ve been consistent,” Bowyer said. “We did the things it takes to win championships. I want to thank Richard (Childress) for giving me the opportunity."
