Some of the things he's said this season, I wouldn't be surprised either.

Default Bolin taking Reiser's spot with 17 team

HOMESTEAD, Fla. – If it was supposed to be a secret who would be replacing Robbie Reiser as Matt Kenseth’s crew chief, Kenseth ended that Friday.

“We’re planning on moving Chip Bolin up to be our crew chief,”
Kenseth said at Homestead-Miami Speedway. “He’s been with us for 10 or 11 years, the whole time that Robbie and I have been there.”

Bolin was the engineer when Kenseth and Reiser started with a five-race deal with Roush for 1999. Earlier this year, when Reiser was serving a NASCAR suspension, Bolin took over as interim crew chief.

“He’s more than ready and more than capable,” Kenseth said of Bolin. “I’m not worried about it at all.“

Kenseth said he’s happy that Reiser is moving up to the job of general manager of the Roush Fenway Racing teams in the Cup series.

"I know it’s something he has kind of been interested in doing for the past few years,” Kenseth said. “But we’ve enjoyed working together and doing this for a long time.

“He has done a lot for my career and we’ve had a lot of fun racing together. We’re still going to work closely together, so he knows he has my support no matter what he wants to do.

"He has got to do whatever is best for him and his family and what he feels most comfortable doing.”

I'd have to agree with wopher, Childress is the one I think he would go with.
