Default Tough times for fans of Juniors

Even the families who support Junior having a hard time

Couple arrested for giving kids tattoos
Story

By Alexis Stevens

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

A northwest Georgia couple arrested for giving six of their children homemade tattoos say they didn't do anything wrong. The kids, they say, wanted the tattoos to be like Mom and Dad.
"I'm their mother," Patty Jo Marsh said late Saturday. "Shouldn't I be able to decide if they get one?"
Georgia law prohibits tattoos from anyone other than a licensed professional. Children under 18 are also prohibited from getting tattoos.
Marsh and her husband, Jacob Bartels, did the tattoos in their Summerville home. They cleaned up a tattoo machine someone gave them, and used guitar strings as a needle. Out of the seven children in their custody, only the youngest child did not get a tattoo.
"They weren't hurt by them," Marsh said. "We would never do anything to hurt them."
Marsh said the children, ages 10 to 17, wanted the small cross tattoos, and the couple did them after Thanksgiving. But when two of the children spent a weekend after Christmas with their biological mother, she reported it to DFACS and police.
At least 10 police officers searched the family's home on Dec. 28, Marsh says, and she and her husband were arrested. They were each charged with cruelty to children, reckless conduct and tattooing, something Marsh they didn't realize was illegal.
"If we knew that, we wouldn't have done it," Marsh said.
The couple bonded out of jail Friday, and now is awaiting a court date. DFACS temporarily took the children out of the home, Marsh said. But now all of the children are home.
Marsh says she feels that the entire incident has gotten blown out of proportion. The couple contends they are good parents, but now they're being labeled child abusers, which Marsh says is untrue.
“If I’m such a bad parent, then how come they brought the kids back right after I got out jail?" Marsh asked.

What am I missing here? I don't see anything about any Junior. Did you mean Dale Junior? I don't even see a reference to his car number, and I don't see any references to any other Juniors that I know of.

Then you should have read this story at TR when I posted it there.

In my version, the tattoos were number 88 tattoos of their favorite nascar driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr. lol

@ Lin88

I was just funning around. I take that you are a Junior fan and I wouldn't try to change you for anything. I compliment you for not be the fair weather type.

The truth is that I am redneck at heart ,I just don't have any tattoos. I love redneck stories an I am proud to be just a grade above white trash myself .

I was a fan of the old mans, but not so much for Junior. But I do miss the old days when drivers didn't enunciate and were just plane crude. I really wish Junior would lose some manners and be less proper.

Ok I am rambling, but again to the Junior-ert fans, please realize this is just meant to be fun. Off season stuff to kill some time before the season begins.

LOL.. that's fine. I thought maybe I was missing something and need to go check out Blakr's version of the story. Frankly, I didn't really like the old man too much... and I like Junior's manners and the fact that he's trying to be his own man. However, I don't mind rednecks. My husband is a biker and I live in Virginia so I've been around plenty of em and they don't bother me one bit. To each their own.

^ Great

I just want to stress that I do not endorse tattoos for the young-ins. Well perhaps a bowtie for the boys would be classy, but only administered by a professional.

The only time I ever considered one was when senior was called "Ironhead". It is really not that silly, back in the 80s Rusty was " Rubberhead", and Bodine was "ConeHead", IronHead was definitely the keeper among the options.

Especially after having to listen to all of his haters in the day. Being able to counter with a private part that was tattooed as "Ironhead" and a Ric Flair "Woot" would have been just brilliance on my parts.

Some of them assumed I had a connection with Dale just because I was wearing an Earnhardt cap or tee.
I got quite a few " did you just see what he just did to so and so". I really think they were under the impression that I could radio Dale myself and say " Calm down and easy on the bumping".

Ok you can call me out for BS on some of the above, but the next one is true, I wouldn't lie to you.

I used to work with a woman that was the biggest senior fan I ever met. She even drove a Black and Silver 1986 SS Monte Carlo. When Dale got killed I was worried about her.

She once told me that when the moon was right and she and the husband were in heat, that she would call him "Dale" and he called her "Teresa " and I do believe that one to be true.

LMAO on that woman..... some people do take things a bit too far.

That's one of the problems with being a fan of a popular driver. They all have crazy fans, but when your driver is the most popular, you have more of the crazies than anyone else.

If a couple just happens to be calling themselves " Dale and Teresa" it-in though it ain't their real names just to make things spicy during the conceptions (yes an S for plural). Then ethics, integrity and all the other what nots, demands they name the boy Dale Jr, or a girl Teresa Jr.

Taylor Nicole is acceptable as well, that's what my friend named his little girl (really true, at least the name part).
