Default Jeff Gordon calls on nascar to change the tracks in the chase

nascar agrees just to piss Denny off.

On the bright side, all Jimminie has to do is start the race at Homestead and Gordon will be eliminated from any chance of winning the championship.

So, the 24 team still has a chance, no? :)

There's always the chance that post race inspection will find a HUGE violation on the 48 car and Jimmie will get a penalty.

Oh good gravy, even I don't believe that one.

Or, the 48 car might be abducted by an alien spacecraft before it takes the green flag at Homestead.

It could happen :@

The alien abduction is ten times more likely than any 100 point penalty at this point.

I honestly expected a speeding penalty on pit road yesterday for the 48 car.
Just to make it interesting.

But I know nascar would never do anything like that

I was on the fence. If JJ would have had another incident yesterday, it probably would have convinced me that the fix was in, and that NASCAR was trying to make it interesting.

I'm still leaning towards them having a bit of a blind eye here and there, because having a dominant driver is "good for the sport."

I keep hearing this theory that having a dominant driver is good for the sport.

IMO the fans hate it, except the 48 fans of course. I think the media likes it because it gives them something to talk about.

Is it good for the sport? Not if the fans of the sport get tired of the 48 team winning the chase every year, and stop watching and attending races.

I always thought the point was competition.

Well, there would be competition if they could ever figure out what Knaus is doing. I still say he uses "racing damage" to improve the aerodynamics of the car.

It doesn't bother me that JJ is now a four time champion in four years. Tony Schumacher just won his sixth NHRA Top Fuel championship in a row. I still have faith that someone will figure out a way to beat the 48 team.

Until then, as long as they can pick and choose when they have bad days, they will remain on top. And I'm not even a Johnson fan.
