Default SMACKDOWN! opinions wanted.

caught a whiff of whining on a different thread in the "be nice" category. and since it wasn't posted in smackdown, i didn't reply... even though i wanted to challenge that same poster's FACTS concerning the T-Rex car...

anyway...

since i share the hope of the poster that this forum be more interactive, i'm here to take a shot at inviting the opinions and debate from the regular members...

so here's the fantasy challenge:

there will be a ten race chase for the championship to determine the best ever in nascar.

and maybe this should be a two part arguement...

name the ten tracks you feel deserve to be a part of determining the champion?

and then name the 15 drivers from nascar history that you feel have earned the opportunity, whether it be because of career statistics, or one year brilliance...

opinions wanted. agreement not expected. and there is no right or wrong answer. unless you disagree with me. then be prepared to defend your opinion.

anyone want to play?

Sounds like fun. We might need to come up some ground rules, for instance. Since we'll be throwing in drivers that no longer race, can we use tracks that are no longer on the schedule?

That'd be a tough one, and you'd certainly have to add in tracks they no longer run at. And I know there will be major disagreements, as someone will likely choose one or both of the RP tracks (I know I will).

Guess I'll need to think about this one.

I'm using tracks that no longer exist! LOL If this is the best ever then all kinds of tracks need to be included.

In no particular order:

Sonoma
Eldora
Langhorne
Lowes
Richmond
Pocono (without the gear ratio rules, let 'em shift)
Talladega
Martinsville
Michigan

Drivers:
Ernie Irvan
Charlie Glottzbach
Geoff Bodine
Dale Earnhardt Sr
Kyle Busch
Jimmie Johnson
Ken Schrader
Tim Richmond
Tony Stewart
Richard Petty
Cale Yarborough
David Pearson

What FACTS concerning the T-Rex car did you take issue with, Klem?
This is smackdown, so please speak freely.

What would Jeff Gordon have to do IYO to have earned that opportunity?
His stats put him along side with the greatest this sport has ever seen.
He belongs on everyone's list, like him or not. He is one of the greatest ever.

Blakr: i'm pretty sure this car only appeared at only one race. i will try to do a little research tonight after work to verify my FACTS (why is that word so prominant on many nascar messageboards?!?!?)!!! or if i'm wrong, i'll post the notice that you were correct.

now...where is your list of tracks and drivers? i will try to post mine by the end of the weekend. and my list will include the track they are at this weekend.
