Speed didn't throw it away. Stenhouse flat-out took him out. True, Speed didn't need to retaliate like that, but at that point he was done as far as championship went anyway. But then he went and said, "hey, you cost me, now i'm gonna cost you...)

Stenhouse did get into him and that was a dumbass move too , not saying he didn't take him out first, But he still had a shot at a decent finish that could have still landed a championship he had a long way to go to make it up, before he lost his head. That was the dumbass maneuver that I was talking about.

Not sure about that, because they showed the points as of then (before he retaliated) and he was in third. His car was too torn up to make up enough points to pass both of those cars in the points. I could be wrong, but his rear end was way out of whck, and he probably would have lost countless laps anyway tyring to fix it. Anyone know what the lowest he could finish was to still win the thing?

Ok, I'm gonna call it a draw on dumbass maneuvers on the day....the important part to me is a family owned team won the championship, not some cup team or a team that had Red Bull money spending their way to a championship....

Well, Stenhouse flat-out took Speed out, fairly early n the race. Got into him to get him loose, and just kept his foot planted which sent Speed into the wall. Speed limped into the pits, than came out of the pits for the green. After the green flew, Speed limped around the tracck until the leaders came by, and just banzaied Stenhouse into the wall, basically ending both thier days. The shenanigans gave Algaier the win and the championship.

Classic short track cause and effect, if you ask me. Personally, I understand Speed's attitude that "If you took me out of the championship, you ain't gonna get it that way either!"

I think they said Speed had to finish 20th(?) to win the title. He was 35th I think after the wreck, and the wreck bent the control arms and track bar and the car probably would have turned right better than it would have turned left. I didn't see any way Speed could have limped around the track and ran fast enough to not get black flagged or ran over (again) and finished high enough to win the title. I guess if I was Speed, I would have went after Stenhouse after he got out of the car and took about $100,000 out of his A$$.
