Default The "Moral Code" Of Jack Roush

The "Moral Code" Of Jack Roush Seems A Little Out Of Whack
By Shawn Courchesne

Last week Sprint Cup Series team owner Jack Roush proved once again that his ability to string together nonsensical opinions into sentence form is trumped only by his skill for being a hypocrite.

During a conference call last week Roush, co-owner of Roush Fenway Racing, which fields five Sprint Cup teams, was asked about what might have been had Kyle Busch and Joey Logano not slipped from his grasp.

Roush used the question though to offer his own indicting statement against not only Kyle Busch, but his older brother Kurt.

Kurt Busch won a Sprint Cup Series championship for Roush in 2004 but left the organization after the 2005 season to go to Penske Racing.

Kyle Busch drove for Roush in the Craftsman Truck Series in 2001 at 16 years old but signed with Hendrick Motorsports when he turned 18 and spent 2005-'07 driving in the Sprint Cup Series for Hendrick. Kyle Busch landed at Joe Gibbs Racing this season where he has been the dominant force in the Sprint Cup Series, winning eight of the first 26 races this year and leading the points for much of the season.

But neither of the Busch brothers are quite popular with fans and Roush used that fact last week to explain why he wouldn't want either with his team.

"Kyle Busch, we certainly had a chance to look at Kyle and his brother Kurt for that matter, and the fact is that they are not the kind of personality and they don't have the moral code on the race track that we look for," Roush said.

Odd, when Kurt Busch was driving for, - and winning championships - for Roush, he was much the same driver he is today, if not more aggressive and vocal.

So why was his "moral code" acceptable then?

No, back then, Roush would defend Kurt Busch to the hilt for his style, or "moral code" on the track. That "moral code" was just fine if it meant Roush could put another championship trophy on his shelf.

And remember, it wasn't Jack Roush that got rid of Kurt Busch for his unacceptable "moral code" but rather Busch that willingly left the organization to go to Penske.

And it just so happens that it wasn't Roush telling Kyle Busch he didn't want him but rather Kyle Busch snubbing Roush's overtures to sign with Hendrick.

But those aren't things that Roush would want to talk about. No, Roush would rather puff his chest out and make himself out to be an owner who is somehow better for keeping the perceived riff-raff out of his stable.

The fact is riff-raff didn't want Roush any more. But Roush would never let the truth get in the way

That must be the Roush's "moral code" at work.

There is The Rousch Code that applies only when convienient for Jack Rousch, and the second of his Code is that only his codes apply when he wants them to.

Of all of the owners in NASCAR I have absolutely no respect for Jack Rousch.

I like Matt Kenseth and Greg Biffle, but the thing that has held me back from actually thinking of them as favorites is Jack Roush. I'm with Smoke on this one. The Cat in the Hat is a power hungry badman. Even worse than Hendrick. At least Hendrick had to pay a penalty for his criminal acts, Roush is criminal, but no one can figure out what the charges are.

What a contradiction of terms:

Jack Rousch - Moral Code

Jack Roush has always been a pure turd. He whined and cried more than anyone back in the late 80's and early 90's over getting week in and week out by Chevy until it got to the point that Nascar started letting the Ford teams make body alterations in a series that was supposed to match a factory template. Now look where we are.

Dayum! There isn't a single statement on this thread that I can argue with.
