Joey Logano will not return to Hall of Fame car this year
By Bob Pockrass - Associate Editor Wednesday, October 01, 2008 Joey Logano, who was scheduled to drive the No. 96 Hall of Fame Racing car in three upcoming NASCAR Sprint Cup races, won’t return to the Joe Gibbs Racing affiliate this season, a spokesman confirmed Tuesday night. Logano had been using the No. 96 to help prepare him to replace Tony Stewart in the No. 20 JGR car in 2009. But Logano has finishes of 32nd and 39th in his two outings with the No. 96 car this year and JGR opted not to have him drive at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, Martinsville Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway. Ken Schrader likely will drive the No. 96 in those events. Logano has one race scheduled with the No. 02 JGR team – in three weeks at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
