I think gordon should be proud of himself, but he had a superior car week in and week out for several years, and there is no denying that. Evernham learned tire pressure tricks that allowed him to take two, go from say 6th to first coming off pit road during the late race caution and drive off at the end of many races. Outstanding engineers, a full time pit crew, contributed greatly to his success too. You won't see one team have it all anymore, tooooo competitive. I am more inclined to rate a driver and compare him to the new era. Gordon has done well, but he doesn't stand out. There is no denying JJ has outperformed him since he came aboard and started sharing the garage, that says something.

Oh,I agree & it has not been the same since Ray left. The competition is so fierce right now, so many new & great drivers aboard. I don`t think that Jeff performed badly, but I do think there were too many bad calls made that possibly cost him more victories.
But I must say I have renewed hope with Steve Latare (sp?) I do think they will 'git er done' and if he can`t have Ray...well hopefully Steve will be the next best thing. If they can carry over what they did at the end of last season I will be one happy camper, LOL

every driver has bad luck, unfortunately Jeff had too many of them last year.

There`s no doubt in my mind I have faith, and really believe he will make a comeback this year, Jeff`s comin` back with a VENGENCE!!!!!!!! He can never retire with ONLY 4 championships, LOL
