There certainly won’t be any slowing Jeff down this month now that the 2006 season has begun. But before returning to the racetrack in Las Vegas, he’ll enjoy the first by-weekend of the season vacationing in several spots out west. Then he heads to Vegas early next week where he will host the Jeff Gordon Foundation Poker Classic Finals with Chris Moneymaker at Caesar’s Palace on the 7th and 8th. After some media and sponsor appearances later that week, Jeff will get back to the track driving yet another special paint scheme. This time you’ll need to look for the green and white Nicorette car as it cruises around Las Vegas Motor Speedway!
It should be an exciting week. The remainder of the month is filling up fast for Jeff, including stops in Atlanta and Tennessee for sponsor obligations and several other things that we’ll keep you informed about as things progress. And don’t forget to catch Jeff on-track after Vegas in Atlanta for the Golden Corral 500 on the 19th and the Food City 500 in Bristol on the 26th. Here’s looking forward to seeing Jeff and the #24 team capture the ‘Luck ‘O the Irish’ and drive the #24 Chevy Monte Carlo SS to victory lane in March! Thanks to Jeff Gordon Network |

Jeff Gordon Post-Race Quotes--California
![]() 2/27/06 1:49 ![]() ![]() CHEVROLET NOTES & QUOTESNASCAR NEXTEL CUP SERIES AUTO CLUB RACE NOTES CALIFORNIA SPEEDWAY February 26, 2006 JEFF GORDON, NO. 24 DUPONT MONTE CARLO SS: ON THE BATTERY PROBLEMS: "Yeah, I thought we had a motor problem at first because of the way it was acting. I looked at all the gauges and I finally looked at the voltmeter and it was gone or down to zero. We lost a lot of time on the track but only lost about two or three positions doing that (changing batteries). We had plenty of time to make it back up. But we were just so loose on new tires that we'd lose a lot of time. But we were one of the best cars on the long runs. We just couldn't get track position." WAS IT NICE TO GET AWAY FROM LAST WEEK'S PRESSURE AT DAYTONA AND RACE AT CALIFORNIA? "Yeah, I was a little disappointed in this race track. Right now, there's no passing. It's just really difficult to put on a good race here. I don't know what we've got to do. I think we've got the cars so good that we're just all running around the bottom of the race track. Other than not having to deal with restrictor plate tracks, it was fun out there adjusting on the car and trying to make it better and getting to race with guys, you feel like you can make a difference based on a few different lines you could take." THANKS AGAIN TO JG NETWORK |
