Default Busch Wins Charlotte

Nationwide win gives Kyle Busch Charlotte sweep

CONCORD, N.C. - It was a familiar ending but a wild ride to get there.

Kyle Busch survived two red flags for rain, a multitude of multicar crashes and 13 cautions before holding off Jeff Burton to win Friday night's Dollar General 300 at Lowe's Motor Speedway, his ninth Nationwide Series win of the season.

The victory gives Busch a sweep of the two series races at the track. He won the May race driving a Toyota for Braun Racing, while the remainder of his eight wins have come with Joe Gibbs Racing.

The win is also his 20th of the year in NASCAR's top three series, Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Trucks. Busch already has eight Cup wins and three in Trucks this season and could add to his Cup total in Saturday night's Bank of America 500.

Brian Vickers finished third, series points leader Clint Bowyer was fourth and Carl Edwards was fifth.

The race was slow to get into a rhythm as five cautions and two red-flags for rain marred the first 100 laps.

Busch took the lead for the first time on Lap 54, lost it while pitting on Lap 86 and regained it on Lap 90 by passing then-leader Mike Bliss on the restart following a caution.

After losing the lead again during pit stops, Busch lined up fifth on a restart on Lap 122 and took less than two laps to power around the four competitors in front of him.

Andrew Ranger's wreck on Lap 168 provided the caution most of the lead-lap cars required to get enough fuel to make it to the finish. On the restart on Lap 173, Busch was in the lead after taking just two tires on his stop.
