Default GO! GoDaddy Girl!

Anybody who has any doubts that Danica Patrick can make the transition to stock cars needs to watch the ARCA race that was run tonight.

That gal can wheel!

She was as prepared as she could possibly have been but I don't think that ride through the grass was in the lesson plans. The way she handled that car in that situation and the way she dug in when Tony Eury Jr. took the reins off of her ..... Dayum.

Now, if DW would just quit going on and on and on and on.......

You beat me to the punch by 2 minutes.. lol
Just started a thread about this. I'll post my comments here and ask SF to delete my thread.

The Danica Patric show...AKA the ARCA race.
I wish I had a dollar for every time the announcers said her name tonight. lol

I was impressed. She didn't seem content to stay put in the final 10 laps. She was willing to try to make something happen, and I give her credit for that.
Although it seemed like she doesn't understand how the draft works with stock cars. She didn't seem to try to draft behind any car in front of her. She was either peeking her car to the inside or the outside of any car in front of her.
Had she tried to tuck her car directly behind a car in the final laps, she may have gained some ground on the front runners.

Congratulations to Bobby Gerhart

Agreed. She ran a hell of a race, but like you said, she needs to learn the draft. She did seem to peak to the outside more than she should ave instead of staying locked behind the bumper.

Looked like she was fellin' a bit froggy coming up the the flag with Carmichael.

All in good time, all in good time. Frankly she did a lot better than I expected her to do. Not because she's a gurl, or because she is young and beautiful... it usually just takes open wheelers a reasonably long time to get used to the differences.

She showed a lot of discipline yesterday and I imagine she will be studying the short tracks as thoroughly as she studied Daytona. Her biggest challenge right now is to earn the respect of the other drivers, as is true with all rookies.

Now, if DW's total crush doesn't turn the fans against her ....

And don't forget about earning respect of the Danica haters out there, whihch will probably be a taller order than earning respect from other drivers.

Well, Kyle Busch turned a lot of haters into believers once they got past his personality and saw his skills. Plus he did reel it in as he matured.

The Danica haters though will probably always hold it against her because of her looks and the fact that she plays the sexy card with her ads, etc (which I see as no different than Jr and his Wranglers). The Montoya haters haven't given an inch about him being a foreigner either (heck, most of them don't even know what country he hails from).

I'll sign up as a hater....If I can hold it against her....

I have no idea about Jr.'s wranglers.....I'll take your word for it.

I have nothing against Danica in any way I think she'll be fine if she sticks with it long enough....No doubt the media will be her biggest obstacle with the fans....Even if ya don't like her, as a fan of the sport ya gotta hope she does well. Just think of the doors that will open for others to follow and succeed....

Montoya on the other hand I do like, I like his attitude and I like that he won't give an inch........and it just makes me lagh when idiots refer to him as a Mexican

I think the jury is still out on Danica. I'm not a hater...I've just never believed she was all that great in the IRL and question how well she'll do in a stocker.

I'll giver her credit in the ARCA race. She kept her nose clean, missed the trouble spots and didn't try to over drive her car. As for her drafting, I wondered if her car just wouldn't suck up well to the car in front of her or if she was just a little gun shy about get nose to tail.

I think Tony Jr is a good teacher for her and will go a long way toward showing her the ropes.
