It was her first stock car race - and it was at Daytona - so I'm thinking that maybe she just wasn't sure enough of herself to take a chance.

There’s no such thing as soy milk. It’s soy juice. But they couldn’t sell soy juice, so they called it soy milk. Because anytime you say soy juice, you actually start to gag… We all know why there’s no soy milk, don't we? Because there’s no soy titty, is there? I was always told that in order to have milk, you must have breasts, and I have yet to see a soy bean with breasts!

.I've just never believed she was all that great in the IRL
She is still the only woman to ever win an IRL race, she finished 3rd at the Indianapolis 500 last year and fifth in points for the season. Does that mean that former Champion and Indianapolis 500 winner Tony Kanaan and everyone else in the IRL who didn't do as well as she in points really suck, or what?

Her Points standings have steadily improved every year from the time she started, which means she is still learning. I believe, with all of her accomplishments as a woman in racing, even if she had never posed in a bikini, there would still be a lot of hype surrounding her. The attention is well earned and well deserved.
Danica Patrick IRL Championship standings:
2005--12
2006--9
2007--7
2008--6
2009--5
IRL stats from 2005 through 2009--Laps led 110; Races 81; Poles 3; wins 1; Top 5 finishes 16; Top 10 43.
I think DW really is overdoing it, however, and I did get tired of hearing him dote on her. It's almost like Despain doting on Jr.

By the way, Dave Despain--Danica beat Nelson Jr twice in the same race last Saturday--once when he tried to wreck her and again when the race ended--by more than a lap.
However, Despain, since you are a fellow Deadhead--as a Deadhead I know we are all crazy, so your Danica derangement syndrome can be overlooked.

Thanks for that, I always think pretty much the same thing when people says she's nothing more than a mid-packer in IRL.
