Oh no doubt there was some degree that Denny was daring Brad. But how would that be Denny's fault that Brad dumped him? If Brad was as suave as his words in the interview, that juvenile reaction wouldn't have happened.
In other words, Denny might have dared him, or perceived to be daring him, but ultimately it was Brad's choice to clip him at the most vulnerable point on the car on the most vulnerable point on the track.
