The one thing that nobody, and I mean nobody has brought up is this. Why, the hell didn't the DEI cars in second and third get together and gang up on the 20? They had ample opportunity to draft by him, an entire lap actually, and could have worked together. I seem to remember a team of blue cars at Daytona did the very same thing. Not working together as a team is ulimately what cost Smith (DEI as a whole, actually) that race at Dega. You can gripe all day long about Smith's illegal pass, but ultimately it was lack of experience (and poor decision making ) that cost Smith the race.
