Default Brienne Davis

A Sad Day in NASCAR Nation

It has now been confirmed, that Brienne Davis a NASCAR inspector for the last two years, was killed Tuesday in a one-vehicle accident during rush hour on northbound Interstate 77 near Huntersville, NC.

Davis’ career path to NASCAR took her from a year-long automotive technology training program that included six weeks of a NASCAR-approved curriculum on racing in her home of Houston, Texas, straight into the engine building dept. at DEI rebuilding engines following races.

After three years at DEI Davis went to work for NASCAR.

Davis traveled to each Cup event as part of NASCAR’s inspection crew. On race mornings, she was responsible for inspecting carburetors and manifolds before sealing them for the race. During the race, she had the responsibility of overseeing crews doing repair work and to make sure they pass inspection before returning to the track.

Perhaps her largest task of a race weekend came after the race when she tore down the motors of the first and second place cars, along with the pole-sitter.

NASCAR released the following statement late Tuesday: “We are deeply saddened at the loss of NASCAR Sprint Cup official Brienne Davis. She was a key member of our team of inspectors and will be missed by the NASCAR community. “

Full Throttle sends its condolences, to Ms Davis’ friends, family and co-workers.
